Going natural is very acceptable nowadays. Remedies that provide relief to different ailments are starting to make their comeback. Once upon a time, they were the medicine of our forefathers. They were effective then, and they are still effective today. Not only can natural migraine relief be effective, they are also inexpensive.

The benefit of trying natural relief for your migraine is safety. There are no side effects or addiction problems. Many medical practitioners and businessmen in the pharmaceutical business consider these methods as fake. Of course, they have their own hidden agenda. Trying the natural way can do no harm.

Before you try anything, you need to understand that you might misconstrue a symptom as a reason for your migraine when it could be pain due to stress, fatigue, hunger, or heat.

Once you have determined that you do get migraines, there are two ways to approach the problem. You could try to abort the migraine before it gets any worse, or you could try to prevent it from happening at all.

In the first instance, if you are going through the initial stages of a migraine, why not stop and put your feet up? Avoid getting dehydrated by drinking lots of non-caffeinated liquids.

One way to de-stress is to undergo aromatherapy. This is a massage with aromatic oils that promote slowing down the feeling of being rushed. Most of us go through our workweek running from one place to another, pushing papers all day long, talking to people, making deals, or just dealing with rush hour. Aromatherapy stills the senses and makes us relax.

Another natural method used to lessen stress is myotherapy. This method tries to soothe your muscles and prevent cramps or spasms.

Yet, another popular method is biofeedback therapy. This gets more technical in that you are attached to a set of wires to determine where your stress originates from. It will give you feedback and suggestions on what (or who) you need to avoid.

Then there is the preventive method, such as increasing your consumption of magnesium. Magnesium helps regulate your blood levels, as well as your biochemical reactions. You can orally take food with magnesium by eating salads and grains or drinking nutritional supplements.

Special care should be observed when ingesting magnesium because too much magnesium in your body could lead to an irregular heart rate, lowered blood pressure, loss of appetite, or diarrhea.

You could also visit your local health store and ask about 5-HTP (5-hydroxytryptophan), which can help you maintain your level of serotonin and hormones
